It's a ..............

BOY!!!!!!!

That's right! We just had our ultrasound today and confirmed that our second child is a boy. It's still exciting to think about having one of each. I thought it would be great to have another girl so I could reuse all the clothes I have for Leah, but I guess I'll just have to start over again. And then I'll have stuff for both when we have our third (but we're not even thinking about that now). We found out that the baby is healthy and right on track for our due date right around Thanksgiving (Nov. 28). I was so relieved to see this little miracle growing inside me. I'm feeling great and feeling more movement in my stomach.

Now we have to move on to figuring out some cute boy names. We have so many boys in my family that we'll have to look extra hard to find a good one. Let me know if you have any good ones you would like to share.

Fourth of July Slide Show

Last week for the Fourth of July we flew to Denver to see my family. My parents, my brother Drew, his wife Lindsey (whose parents live in Denver), and their kids met us there from Texas to celebrate last weekend. We all stayed at Lindsey's house. As you will see from the slide show, we had a wonderful time. We had great weather and ate great food. Logan even got to ride go-carts, and we went to a July 4th parade. I hope you enjoy the pictures.

Updates on Leah

We've had two interesting weeks with Leah including a croupy cough, a mad spreading cold sore, and a mild fever. The cough was first and made us worry after it didn't go away in a week. We had to make sure and give her an inhaler to help with her breathing. She had to use it the last time she had a bad cough. The inhaler has bears on the side so she liked it as a toy but when we made her use it, she hated us holding her down and making her breathe it in.

And then as soon as the cough was going away, she got a small cold sore. We just put the same cold sore cream on it that I use when I get cold sores. But with all the slobber that comes out of her mouth especially when she has her binkie in at night made the cold sore grow and grow. Every time we went to look at it, it seemed like she had another blister popping up. We had one doctor say she got a strep infection on a small cute so we used an antibiotic ointment on it to stop the infection. Then we had another doctor say that it was a cold sore that got out of hand. So we finally got some oral medicine to treat the cold sore and the sore dried up and scabbed.

Along with the cold sore, she had a low grade fever and was cranky all last week. The doctor said that her gums was red and swollen as well. But now she is finally back to her old self. She is the happy Leah that we remembered before the cough and the cold sore. The scabs on her face are looking better, and I'm sure it will clear up soon.

I guess she has the curse of cold sores now for the rest of her life just like me. But the next time she gets one, we will be better prepared and be able to treat it better.
