He just had back surgery yesterday, and he is home from the hospital. They had a scare with how severe his herniated disc was but went into surgery just in time.
You can read more about it at his family's blog.

Rolling Over and first teeth
Cameron has learned to roll over all by himself this week. He's can now roll from his belly to his back and also from his back to his belly. For the past few weeks, he was getting so close to doing it and has finally decided to give it a shot. I think he realized that he can roll over and grab a toy that's out of his reach.
It's surprising to see him in a one position and then look over a few minutes later so see that he has moved. Today he kept rolling into the swing and trying to get his mouth on it. I would move him over and then see him a little bit later right next to the swing again.
It's interesting to see the differences in him compared with Leah because she didn't not like to play on her stomach very much. I think it also had to do with her being pretty chubby. He is pretty content to playing on the floor as long as someone is in the room with him, and he has enough toys to keep him busy. Leah likes to bring almost the whole basket of baby toys over to him. I keep trying to tell her that he doesn't need all of them.
Some other firsts for him is getting his his two little bottom teeth. This isn't the greatest picture because it's hard to get him to open his mouth without his tongue getting in the way. But both bottom teeth have broken through his gums during the last couple of weeks. So now you can really hurt your finger if he decides to start chewing on it.

Can you believe it?
What a day! Both Leah and Cameron decided they didn't want to take naps this afternoon (Cameron only took a cat nap), and it's now SNOWING outside. Plus Logan wants to go review a restaurant tonight with the kids, and I'm wondering if that is really the best idea. And on top of it all, I think I'm coming down with the sickness that my kids have had the past two weeks - a sore throat, cough, and a general achiness (is that a word?) all over.
Could my day getting any more complicated?
Earlier today we had playgroup at our church, and when we all walked down the hall to leave we realized it had started to snow HARD. Leah says to me "It's snowing, Mommy!" and I replied "Wow, I can't believe it's snowing!"
So now she keeps asking me "You can't believe it's snowing, Mommy?" in such a cute voice. And I reply every time, "Yeah, I can't believe it's snowing."
All I want to do is curl up in my bed and take a nap, but my kids have other plans for me today.

Happy, happy Birthday and Easter, too!
Last Saturday was my dear old dad's birthday so we sent him a card and sang to him over the phone. Even Leah sang Happy Birthday to him, and said "I love you, Papa." We hope he had a great birthday with the rest of my family in Texas.
Leah in her Easter dress. I already added this picture in a previous post but I didn't get a picture yesterday in her dress.
Yesterday we celebrated Easter with Logan's family at our house. Logan cooked a delicious ham, Au gratin potatoes, and green beens. Braden's wife Haley made delicious baked beans and angel food cake for dessert. And Logan's mom brought rolls and strawberries to put on the angel food cake. Everything tasted heavenly.
When Leah woke from her nap, she got to find the Easter eggs we hid throughout our kitchen and living room. She was so excited each time she found one. And she keeps asking to have a treat since we only let her have a few eggs yesterday. We hope she can make them last a little while. Logan's sister Kelcy brought an egg dying kit so they colored eggs yesterday after dinner. Leah was excited to color an egg but she also cracked the shell from holding it too tight.
We also celebrated Logan's birthday yesterday even though his birthday is actually today. Happy Birthday, sweetheart! The poor guy has to work a night shift on his birthday so he already opened his present this morning, and we sang to him. We got to have breakfast and lunch together since he won't be home for dinner tonight. For lunch he made (yes, he wanted to make lunch on his birthday) egg salad sandwiches from the hard boiled eggs and ham we had left over from Easter. They were really tasty!
Each year we are the same age for one month (I am 11 months older than him) so this month we are both 27! It's crazy that we are getting so close to turning 30. It used to seem so old to me, but now it's only a couple of years away. I feel so blessed to have him as a husband, friend, partner in life, and the father of my kids.
I love you!

Last weekend I was putting Cameron to bed while Logan and his brother Braden were at the Priesthood session of Conference. Braden's wife Haley stayed with me and helped me put the kids to bed. I heard Cameron making some noise in his bed, and I went to check on him. He had pushed himself out of his blanket, and he was laying sideways in his crib. I called Haley in there to see him, and Cameron just looked up at us like "What did I do?"

Seeing him like this reminded me of Logan as a baby. Logan's mom told me about going in to check on Logan, and he had his feet out of the crib sideways.
Cameron hasn't quite rolled by himself, but he definitely kicks and squirms to move around.

Cameron had a really good alfalfa hair the other day. We had given him a bath the night before and forgotten to comb down his tuft of hair. So the next morning it was standing straight up. Logan has threatened to cut off this piece of hair because it's longer than the rest, but I think we should leave it there. It's just so cute. It's about the only long hair left from when he was born.

Kids say the funniest things
Leah cracks us up every day with the things she says. And I always forget to write down what she says, but in the last couple of days I actually remembered. Here are a few of the things she said:
"I'm taking small bites like a princess." (We always encourage her to take small so she doesn't choke and gag on her food)
"My birthday's coming up." (And when we asked her whose birthday it was today - it's actually my dad's birthday today - she said all excited "Leah's!!")
"I'm painting my nails in the bathroom. Dad, go out. Don't bother me, Dad." (Logan tried to come say hi while I was painting Leah's nails in the bathroom.)
These are just a few of them. She has started saying prayers at meal times and at bed times, and it's so funny to hear the things she says. At night was always pray that Leah will sleep all night and not get out of her bed. She always says this in her prayer at meal times too.
And sometimes she will say "Bless Nana and Papa. Bless Grandma and Grandpa. Bless Nana and Papa. Bless Grandma and Grandpa." She can't think of what else to pray for so we have to help her a little bit. She is really getting the hang of it, though.
And when she wants to watch a movie, she says, "Watch a movie? Watch Sword and the Stone? Set the timer, and when it beeps go to bed (or turn it off)." This is what we tell her when she wants to watch a movie. We set the timer so she doesn't watch it all day.

"Eating my bagel with a fork, Mommy," Leah said.
"You're silly, Leah," I said.
She laughed and said "Silly Leah."

Cameron's new trick
Now that I've posted three in a row of Leah, it's Cameron's turn. His new trick today was grabbing his toes. I don't remember taking any pictures of Leah doing this, but maybe I'll have to go back and search through my pictures. I just remember her being super chubby and not really wanting to play on the floor. Cameron has enjoyed laying on the floor, trying to roll from side to side and playing with toys as long has he's not tired or hungry.
It's so fun to watch him try to figure things out by grabbing on with his tight grip. He will reach out for my cell phone, hair, hands or anything within reach. He also loves to pull his binkie out of his mouth. Logan even caught him holding his binkie in his crib tonight before falling asleep and fussing because it wasn't in his mouth.
Today after I fed Cameron, I was just talking to him on my lap. And Leah came in the room and decided to start putting burp cloths on Cameron's head. She thought this was so funny. I had to snap a picture before he had so many on his head that you couldn't see his face.
Lately Cameron gets so distracted when I'm trying to nurse him. If Leah or Logan are around, he just wants to see them and know what's going on. I try to take him into his room to feed him so he won't get distracted, but Leah always follows us in there to see what's going on. They both have to know what each other are doing at all times.
Leah at four months old
Our budding artist
Leah has recently taken up drawing again after having a few months sabbatical. I think her infatuation with drawing started again when she drew a good picture in nursery last Sunday, and her teacher was so impressed with it. So we told her how much we liked it. I also bought some new dry erase markers for our white board after our other ones all dried out. She frequently forgets to put the lids back on when she is done.
She also found some thank-you notes of mine and wanted to "draw a gift for Nana" (my mom). She has seen me write notes to friends and family and decided that she likes to do it too. I also let her draw some more pictures for my dad since his birthday is coming up. She does a pretty good job of drawing faces inside an oval (which is the body) and arms and legs coming out of it. Drawing is a good activity to keep her busy while I'm feeding or changing Cameron. Check out the pics.
An afternoon with Grandma
Logan's mom came down on Tuesday to hang out with us and especially Leah. Leah was on Grandma's heels every where she went. She wanted to play with her every minute. She even wanted to fix her hair, though she had a hard time getting the rubber band in Grandma's hair.
Logan's mom is quite the seamstress and she made Leah a really cute skirt. She brought it down with her to try on Leah, and Leah didn't stop wearing it for the next two days.
They had a lot of fun together.
