Fourth of July weekend, part 1

I'm a little behind in posting about July 4th so just pretend it was this last weekend. I wanted to go up the canyon for the weekend to spend time in the outdoors. We had such beautiful weather in the mornings so I thought that would be the best time for the kids.

On July 3rd we went walking with the Barnetts up the Provo River Trail that goes up to Bridal Veil Falls. They kids always love playing in the water and throwing rocks into the water. We even walked along the trail past the falls, and it was so shady and cool. Leah collected flowers and snail shells along the way. We love being outside and were glad that our friends came along with us.

The kids found a big rock that they wanted to stand on and feel as big as us.

Visiting Living Planet Aquarium

We bought a year pass for us to visit the Living Planet Aquarium in Sandy. It was only a little bit more than paying for two visits so I thought we could go throughout the year, especially when it's cold and we need something to do indoors. Leah loves to see all the fish and sea creatures. She says that one day she wants to pet the sting rays, but when we get there she always "chickens" out. Cam loves to follow her around see everything too, especially the sharks, the penguins and the frogs.

We have a great time every time we go, and the kids are so excited to see everything and always want to run away from me. Here are some pictures from our last visit:

What we've been up to....

I'm playing catch up since I haven't been good about updating my blog in a little while. Here's one of the pizzas I've made in the past few weeks. I was making pizza every week so now Logan wants to take a little break from it. So here is our Canadian bacon and pineapple one before it went into the oven.

I even gave the recipe to my mom and talked her into making pizza too. It's such an easy recipe.

Leah loves to draw pictures on our white board while Cameron takes his afternoon nap. This picture is from a week ago when she wanted me to draw the bodies of ponies, and she would decorate them. She loves drawing families of ponies too.

Today she wanted me to draw a dad, a mom and a girl (just like her). Then she wrote Dad, Mom, and her name with a few extra letters attached. And this morning we drew pictures of a dog family. I draw their bodies, and she usually draws designs on the dresses.
