I will miss the scenery

And after a lot of complaining we've done about the limited parking, cold winters, narrow streets crowded with cars, and crazy driving, I will say that I'm going to miss it here. The temperature has been relatively nice the past week, with the humidity just over 50 percent. It gets pretty hot after you have been walking around for awhile, BUT there are beautiful tall, shady trees everywhere to block the sun. And that's one thing that I will really miss besides my friends in at church.

I've never lived somewhere with this many trees, and especially in such a urban community. My favorite times of the year have been the spring (which doesn't really start until part way through May) and the fall. And it's because of the trees and the cool weather. The fall brought an assortment of different colored leaves, and we would take drives up along Sheridan Road to see the trees and the million dollar homes. Trees and flowers have blossomed in the spring now, and I just love walking by everyone's yards here. Some of them are pretty elaborate. Hiring landscaping crews to plant tons of plants and flowers make some houses look like cottages in the woods.

I know where we hope to live in the future won't be as green as here, but I'm sure most other places aren't as windy and cold either and that's a big factor. Oh, I can't forget that I will miss living by Lake Michigan, but I don't need to ramble on about that one. Just check out this photo and the picture of Chicago's Shoreline to know why.

Theres a saying around these parts that no one loves springs as much as Minnesotains (spelling?). I guess that hold true for Chicagoians as well. It's always hard to say goodbye to a place you lived, no matter how hard it was, it was your home, so you always finds parts to love about it.

I'm going to miss Evanston too, even though waiting for the bus in -20 degree weather was something I'd like to forget.
