Happy Fourth of July - Saturday

Saturday morning Cameron took a long nap so Logan said he would stay home while I took Leah to Provo's Freedom Festival. We caught the very end of the Grand Parade, and she got to see girls dressed up in Princess dresses. She thought that was pretty cool and wanted them to come back. We went to the art tables set up for kids where Leah made two beaded bracelets, got her nails painted, and made a little craft with stickers. I wanted to get her face painted but the line was too long. We also watched some live entertainment of some girls and guys doing some Irish folk dancing. Leah liked that and was excited when they would come back on stage to do another number.

It was pretty crowded so we only stayed for a couple of hours which included hiking there and back to our car. It would have been fun to see more of the booths with Logan and buy some yummy food but we didn't want to drag both kids there.

After the kids had naps, Logan's dad and sister Jenna drove down to hang out with us. They got a hotel room in Provo so we took Leah and Cameron swimming there. The water was pretty chilly but we got used to it after a while.

Once again Cameron was a little fish in the water, and it felt like he was going to swim out of our arms any minute. He didn't stop moving his little arms and legs while in the water and didn't mind getting splashed in the face.

Leah is a little more apprehensive about getting water in her face or going under water, but I've been trying to work on that with her. She still had a great time jumping of the side and watching Grandpa make little splashes with his fist.

Saturday night we grilled hamburgers at our place and put the kids to bed early. Then Logan's dad and Jenna smoked us playing Hand and Foot, one of our favorite card games. We were so ashamed of the score that we just stopped after two rounds and ate cherry pie and ice cream. We decided not to try and see fireworks this year because we didn't want to brave the traffic. Maybe next year we'll take Leah when she's a little older and can stay up late.
