Down on the farm

I've been wanting to take the kids to the Thanksgiving Point's Farm Country, and I finally did it last Thursday afternoon. I paid only $7 for the three of us (Cameron was free) and spent about two hours there feeding and watching the farm animals. The kids even got to ride miniature ponies, which they loved. Cameron even stayed on for most of the ride and hung on by himself.

Cameron saying "cheese!"

For the most part they were good kids, but I did have to lock them up for bad behavior once or twice.

This alpaca was crackin' us up with his shaved skinny body and funny hair do. He was very friendly and kind of reminded me of the movie, The Emperor's New Groove.

I couldn't figure out what animal this guy was and forgot to go on the other side of the fence to find out. So we will just call him a spotted, shaggy donkey. If you know the name of him, please leave a comment. I would love to know.

Leah loved feeding the animals until this turkey pecked her hand when she went to put the feed in the cage. After that she didn't want to try it.

They have this great air conditioned room where you could pretend to water and harvest your fruits and veggies. It was a pretty hot afternoon so the air condition helped us cool off a bit. The kids loved putting these cards on the assembly belt like they were taking them to the grocery store.

If you can't tell already, we had a great time. I think I'll have to take them back another day when it's not so hot.

We love the Thanksgiving Point Farm! It is such a fun place to go with the kids. I'm glad your kids enjoyed it so much! I LOVE the picture of the Alpaca -- I've never seen one shaved before. So funny!
